Details of the Fifth Session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, have been given at a news conference in Beijing on Thursday.

The session, which gets underway on Friday, is due to discuss a report about the work of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and how proposals put forward at the last session have been handled by the Standing Committee.
