2 killed, 4 injured in Jakarta's bus station suicide bombing

Two were killed including a policeman in a suicide explosion near a bus stop in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta, police and eye witnesses said on Thursday morning.

Deputy of National Police Chief Commissioner General Syafruddin said the suicide bombing, occurred near a bus stop in the Kampung Melayu area of Jakarta, killed two and injured four policemen.

"One of the casualties is a civilian and he is an alleged suicide bomber," said Syafruddin.

The general confirmed that the terrorist strike is categorized as suicide bombing.

An eyewitness Simon Namaraut, who was in the scene when the blasts were taking place said that he saw a woman fell and unconscious, and two policemen also fell, one of them died.

The explosion seriously damaged the bus stop facility, said the eyewitness.

"The first bomb exploded 21: 10 p.m., and about five minutes later, the second one blasted," Sinaga, who was calling his son at the position of about 20 meters from the bomb site, told Xinhua at the scene.

Police lines have been set up in the bomb site, scores of anti-terror police personnel were also on guard at the scene. 

Some of the victims have been rushed to the nearby Premier hospital, according to the police. 

The suicide bombing occurred days after the deadly explosion in Manchester of the United Kingdom.
