After rising to fame with his directorial debut of "A Hero or Not," ("煎饼侠"), actor-director Dong Chengpeng's new film "Father and Son" is set to hit Chinese theatres July 21, 2017.

Dong Chengpeng plays the lead, and is also the film's producer.

At a news conference in Shanghai to announce the release date, Dong Chengpeng, commonly known in China as Dapeng, says he believes the film will make people laugh, as well as think.

Rising star Zhang Tian'ai plays Dapeng's girlfriend in the film.

Renowned comedian Fan Wei also stars in the film, which follows the story of a father and son trying to find ways to pull themselves out of debt.
