An opera production of Mozarts's classic Magic Flute will be staged in Beijing on Friday.

The opera will performed by Kmische Oper Berlin and British theater group 1927 at the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in Beijing.

Audiences will see a creative mix of an animated film, live action, a silent movie and actors.

The production was first premiered in Berlin in 2012 and has been touring the world since then.

It has been staged successfully in Shanghai and Guangzhou with positive reviews.

The Magic Flute is a two-act opera by Mozart to a German libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder.

The work premiered in 1791 in Vienna, just two months before the composer's death.
