"Since it was launched two years ago, it has staged over 1,400 performances, with over a million people attending the shows. It's established a remarkable reputation in the performing arts field, among the media and with theatre goers," said An Zhaohui, chair of the Beijing Tianqiao Zenith Investment Group.

The center has been designed to become a hub for musical performances as well as art education, exhibitions and public arts events by 2020.

For the past two years, the center has seen performances of classics including "My Fair Lady" and "Romeo and Juliette" in 2016, and other notable musicals, including "Wicked," "The Producers," "Jersey Boys" and the Chinese version of "Jekyll and Hyde," becoming a must-stop for musical fans in Beijing.
