Chinese action film "Wolf Warrior 2," the most successful box office for Chinese film in history, has won "Best Film" at the first China-ASEAN Film Festival, which took place on Monday, December 4, 2017 in Malaysia.

"Wolf Warrior 2" tells the story of a former Chinese special forces agent who fights against militants and mercenaries in Africa.

The film earned a record 5.68 billion yuan (around 859 million US dollars) in Chinese theatres.

It has been chosen as the Chinese entry for the "Best Foreign Language Film" category at next year's Oscars.

Wu Jing, the star and director of "Wolf Warrior 2," in accepting the China-ASEAN Film Festival award, notes filmmakers around the world are spreading their own culture to the world in their own way, saying he hopes more Chinese films can be created by cooperating with filmmakers from ASEAN countries.
