The partnership will see Tencent and BBC work together to build the online fan community BBC Earth Tribe for people passionate about natural history and science. It will feature more than 650 hours of BBC Studio's natural history and science programs, and offer fans access to interviews, Q&As, and live streaming by documentary makers from their filming locations.

The co-production project "Dynasties" is the third natural history co-production between Tencent and BBC Studios, following their earlier partnerships on the award-winning series "Blue Planet II" in 2017 and "Planet Earth II" in 2016.

"We are very excited to extend our partnership with Tencent with the co-production of "Dynasties", and work with them to build a community of like-minded natural history fans, bringing our content beyond the screens to them via BBC Earth Tribe," said David Weiland, BBC Studio's executive vice-president for Asia.

Wang Juan, the chief editor of Tencent Video, said "Our audiences have a huge appetite for BBC Earth content, so we are thrilled to partner with BBC Studios on this new initiative, bringing our customers unparalleled access to an incredible portfolio of high-quality content and unique interactive experiences."

Filmed over four years at locations around the world, "Dynasties" explores the lives of some of the world's most iconic animals and tells the stories of their struggle to survive. The series is presented by world-renowned naturalist David Attenborough, who won an Emmy last month as Best Narrator for the "Blue Planet II" series.

Tencent will broadcast the series via its video platform simultaneously with the British telecast.
