Actor John C. Reilly was ready when the call came, and reprises his title role.

"Well, I said, 'Yes,' immediately, I was jumping up and down. Are you kidding me? Being in such a beautiful little family, and this chum here actually became a real friend in life."

Reilly was referring to actress Sarah Silverman, who provides the voice of Ralph's perky pal Vanellope.

The new film takes Ralph and Vanellope from the video arcade to the internet.

Actor Jack McBrayer said the new setting gave the filmmakers a considerably larger canvas for their story.

"If you think about it, the first film was six years ago. The world has changed such a great deal in six years. The internet has changed so much in six years. So, they had a lot, a lot to play with. So, I think the challenge for them was just winnowing it down and figuring out what could stay."

The new movie boasts many big-name cameos, including some from the Disney family: its famed fairy-tale princesses, as well as characters from the Marvel Comics Universe.
