The 74-year-old actor was joined by his wife, son and 101-year-old father Kirk Douglas in an emotional ceremony, where he was introduced by legendary actress, Jane Fonda.

"2018 marks my 50th year in show business. This is a great honor and I'm not getting any younger. I wanted to enjoy it with my wife and my son".

Douglas addressed his legendary father Kirk Douglas, sitting in a wheelchair at the ceremony.

"And my dad is here. In a month, Kirk turns 102 years old. It means so much to me, Dad, that you're here today. I thank you for your advice, for your inspiration. And I'll say it simply and with all my heart. I'm so proud to be your son".

Fonda noted that the veteran actor had won plenty of Hollywood honors throughout the years.

"He has rightfully been bestowed with all of the rewards that Hollywood has to offer. Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, SAG awards, and lifetime validated parking at Fred Segal. And now, finally, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Michael, this day and this honor are long in coming but so well deserved".

Douglas' honor marks the 2,648th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He will be seen next in the Netflix series "The Kominsky Method," hitting the streaming service later this month.
