After winning the Best Actress Academy Award in 2017, along with a host of other awards including the BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards, Emma Stone was thrown into a muddy ditch on the set of her next film "The Favourite," in a scene with Nicholas Hoult.

"That made me so happy. It was so fun to do something creative right after all that was going on, which was very special but I really like acting the very most so it was cool to get pushed down a hill by Nicholas Holt. I did not mind," said Stone.

"The Favourite" stars Stone, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman. Colman plays Queen Anne while Weisz and Stone play cousins Sarah and Abigail, whom are both vying for the position of royal favourite.

"I would say my character would use any means necessary to get what she wants," said Stone. "So seduction is just one of many things that she would probably utilize. And in my understanding, what she wants is survival. Where she's been is horrific and she doesn't want to be out on the streets again and suffering through what she was suffering through, so she wants safety and security above all else."

The film isn't a typical 18th century period piece because of its contemporary dialogue, and shooting techniques like the use of a fisheye lens in some scenes. The movie also includes breakdancing.

"The Favourite" opens Nov. 23 in the United States.
