The 38th Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA) announced its nomination list in Hong Kong on Tuesday.

The hosts of this year's ceremony include Hong Kong actors Louis Koo and Teresa Mo, who announced the nominees.

Action film "Project Gutenberg" starring superstars Chow Yun-fat and Aaron Kwok garnered the most nominations at 17, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Makeup/Costume and Best Cinematography.

The competition is fierce in the Best Actor category as international superstar Chow Yun-fat goes up against veteran actor Francis Ng and popular Hong Kong singer/actor Aaron Kwok.

Koo, a past winner of the Best Actor award, said that throughout the nomination process he's been watching lots of movies.

"I have a habit of watching movies. Actually, I like to watch, ideally, three movies per day. But, sometimes, I only get to watch one or two. You know the movies are mediocre at best if I fall asleep while watching them."

The winners will be revealed during the award ceremony on April 12.
