Chinese celebrities mourn fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld

Chinese celebrities, including media entrepreneur Yang Lan, actress Zhou Xun and actor Huang Xuan, all joined the fashion world in mourning Karl Lagerfeld, who was one of the most prolific designers of the 20th and 21st centuries on social media.

"I had the honor to work with Mr. Lagerfeld for more than a decade, and I admire his professionalism and dedication. Life is limited by time, but beauty is eternal. Rest in peace." Zhou Xun wrote on her Weibo account.

Yang Lan also recalled her interview with Lagerfeld in 2007, saying what impressed her most was his diligence and outspoken manner. He treated his work as important as breath.

Chinese actor Huang Xuan published his photos taken with Lagerfeld at an earlier fashion event on his Weibo account, with the text: "Rest in peace."

Lagerfeld enjoyed the stature of a god among mortals in the world of fashion, where he stayed on top for well over half of a century.
