"Come Away" is a family adventure fantasy, which Oyelowo describes as "an indie movie, Jolie style."

The 43-year-old British actor says he and Jolie bonded over their large families -- he has four children, while she has six.

"A lot of our conversations revolve around being parents and juggling the work-life balance, all that kind of stuff. And years ago I had been with Angie and she was bemoaning the fact that no one ever offers her indie movies. So I got this script and I literally just called her up and I said 'OK, miss no one offers me indie movies.' And within four days, she was on the film. So I guess she was not lying".

Oyelowo and Jolie play husband and wife in the film.

Directed by "Brave" frontrunner Brenda Chapman, "Come Away" is a reimagined origin story for the characters in "Peter Pan" and "Alice in Wonderland."

There's no release date set for the movie, though it is expected to play at film festivals.
