First ever FIA WEC victory for Chinese team

The Jota-Run Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA-Gibson group took the lead and made history as the first-ever Chinese team to win a FIA WEC Race at Silverstone Circuit. Ho-Pin Tung also was the first-ever Chinese driver to win.

The three-man team saw Oliver Jarvis in the last 6-hour spell, enduring harsh weather conditions from rain to shine, as he brought the #38 car to win by 19.376 seconds.

Ho-Pin Tung said about the victory: "The team did a great job preparing a winning car, and my colleagues Oliver on his LM P2 debut, and Thomas, we all made it a great team effort and team result.

To be here at Silverstone, at the first race of the 2017 FIA WEC and to claim a fantastic victory for Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport makes me really proud. I know how much work has gone into this by everyone, by the guys at Jota Sport who have worked literally flat out from the beginning of the year to this first race.

We've had so much support from China, being on the podium, hearing the Chinese national anthem and seeing the Chinese flag being raised is just phenomenal."

The team have now proved to itself and to its rivals, that it is a forced to be reckoned with. They are now looking ahead to the next round in Belgium, the 6 hour Spa-Francorchamps on May 4th to the 6th. The team will reunite to continue its pursuit for FIA WEC LMP2 championship victory.
