Sacked former Leicester boss has had “numerous offers” according to his agent Steve Kutner. Jiangsu have made an approach for Claudio Ranieri who is the latest top European name to be targeted in China’s football revolution.

It’s a year since the 65-year took the foxes to the Premier League title and that achievement has attracted praise from money rich clubs including Jiangsu.

Jiangsu is an established part of China’s loaded football elite after spending enormous sums on signing leading players from European clubs. The club surprised the football world back in January 2016 when splashing £25m on Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires.

Jiangsu have struggled to get their hands on a top European manager, attempts to lure ex-England and AC-Milan boss Fabio Capello failed and they believe King Claudio is the man to take them from the foot of the Chinese Super League.

Jiangsu Sainty has played seven matches this season and has not yet recorded a victory. Three draws and four losses means the club are in a relegation battle and as we saw this season with Ranieri at the helm of Leicester City the manager does not cope particularly well with the pressures of a relegation battle
