The DFL Football League has announced Chinese football star Shao Jiayi was selected as one of the first 9 players to be inducted into DFL Hall of Fame.

Shao Jiayi played 168 games as a midfielder in the German Division One and Division Two Leagues. He is considered the most successful Chinese football player in the history of German Division One League.

Shao Jiayi is currently one of the "Image Ambassadors" for German football.

The first 9 players to be inducted into DFL Hall of Fame all hail from different target markets, including Germany (Lothar Matthäus), China (Shao Jiayi and Jorg Albertz), USA(Steven Emil Cherundolo), Mexico(Pavel Pardo Segura), Ghana(Anthony Baffoe), Oceania(Wynton Rufer), Korea(Cha Bum-Kun) and Brazil(Paulo Sérgio Betanin).
