Yao Bianwa completed the five-lap and 22.5-kilometer ride in one hour and 20 minutes 17 seconds, four minutes 39 seconds ahead of her teammate Li Hongfeng.

Natalie Panyawan of Thailand finished third in 1:26:11.

Yao, 22, built up unassailable lead, leaving Li one minute and 18 seconds behind.

"I very much enjoyed this race which was rather easy for me," Yao said.

"Before start, I forced myself to focus on the race and avoided any distraction. I only wanted to ride well and did not think if I could win the gold," she said.
