Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, 2018 World Cup finalist Luka Modric, and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah have been shortlisted as this year's FIFA Men's Player of the Year.

Ronaldo led Real Madrid to its 3rd straight Champions League title – a feat no team has pulled off since the UEFA reform in 1992. Modric, who was also part of Real Madrid's title winning squad, reached the World Cup final with Croatia. Salah scored 44 goals across all club competitions for Liverpool, which reached the Champions League final.

FIFA will announce its awards, which also includes Best Goalkeeper and Best Coach, on September 24th in London.
