Rooney's free kick goal gives DC United a 1-0 win over Toronto
Wayne Rooney scored a long-range goal to help D.C. United beat Toronto FC 1-0 on Wednesday in Washington.

Rooney bent a free kick just inside the post from nearly 40 yards out in the 18th minute of the game and goalkeeper Bill Hamid had four saves great saves to ensure the home team's one-nil win.
Bill Hamid put on another fine performance against Toronto to extend to three his clean sheets. He's conceded just one goal.
D.C. United have now won four games in a row and are unbeaten in their last eight.
The Washington club has a four-point lead over Montreal Impact for the sixth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with two games remaining.
Toronto FC were eliminated from playoff contention after their loss to Vancouver on October 6 and have lost three of their last four games.
