The 2.8-meter-tall bronze statue depicts Maradona in the moment he scored "the goal of the 20th century," his second goal against England in the quarter finals of the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

"The inspiration of this work or of this moment of Diego is the goal that we, all the Argentines shouted in 1986 to the English, the second one. After observing many photographs I felt that this marked a milestone in the history of Argentine football," said sculptor Jorge Martinez.
