China-ASEAN rally race reaches half point in Thailand

The 2019 China-ASEAN International Touring Assembly reached Thailand on Tuesday after seven days of competition.

Participants drove on a 200-kilometer route from Vientiane, Laos to Khon Kaen, Thailand in a speed limit race.

The rally will next go to Bangkok before reaching Malaysia and finally ending in Singapore.

In addition to the competition, race organizers and Lao sports department officials held seminars on Monday to promote communication and cooperation with representatives of several Chinese enterprises from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region also attending the event.

The 450-kilometer stage eight to Bangkok marks the half point of the 18-day South Asian journey.

Nearly 160 drivers participated in the rally, which also helps enhance the cooperation between China and ASEAN countries along the Belt and Road route.
