Kenyan runners prove dominance at Ningbo Marathon

Kenyan runners again proved their dominance in marathon with athletes bagging gold and silver at the 2019 Ningbo International Marathon.

Peter Karuiku clocked two hours, 16 minutes, 34 seconds to top the men's results, while his compatriot Alexander Chepyegon crossed the line in second.

An amateur racer was the surprising winner in the domestic group.

Mou Zhenhua, a tennis coach, recorded the fastest time among Chinese contestants. He ranked fifth overall.

In the women's race, Chinese athletes collected all three medals.

Over 12,000 people participated in this year's Ningbo race, which is the sixth stop of the 'Run China' marathon series.

The Ningbo competition also involves a public welfare project.

The organizers extracted one yuan from every runner's registration fee to donate to local non-profit organizations.
