Quake kills at least 47 in central Mexico

At least 47 people were killed in a powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake that hit central Mexico on Tuesday.

As many as 42 people were killed in the state of Morelos, Gov. Graco Ramirez said via Twitter, while the governor of Mexico State, Alfredo del Mazo, said five people were killed in his state.

Authorities in the capital Mexico City have yet to report the number of casualties.
