CENC adjusts earthquake magnitude in Gulf of Alaska to 8.0
According to the latest figures from the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), an 8.0-magnitude earthquake hit the Gulf of Alaska of the United States at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time).
An earthquake measuring 8.2 on the Richter scale jolted 278 km southeast of Kodiak, Alaska, at 0931 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.[Photo: 163.com]
The epicenter was monitored at 55.96 degrees north latitude and 149.13 degrees west longitude.
The quake struck at a depth of about 10 km.
