White House team to leave for Singapore for possible Trump-Kim summit

A White House team will leave as scheduled for Singapore this weekend to prepare for a possible summit between US President Donald Trump and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong Un, a White House spokesperson said on Saturday.

The White House confirmed it after President Trump said Friday that his administration has restarted dialogue with the DPRK following his cancellation of a historic summit. 

The president also suggested that a meeting between the two countries could even take place on the originally scheduled date of June 12.
