Third medical aid team from China arrives at Pakistan's Gwadar Province

A third team of aid workers from China has arrived at Gwadar Port in southwestern Pakistan to provide medical humanitarian assistance to the local community. They will replace an existing team that has been working for the past eight months at the emergency medical care center there.

The teams and the center are part of a public welfare project initiated by the China Red Cross Society and the Chinese Red Cross Foundation in February 2017. The initiative was established to support the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The first team started work in Gwadar in September 2017. As of the end of last year, the Gwadar medical center has provided assistance to 2,302 patients.
