Canada's Financial Post has recently published an article written by Terence Corcoran, warning the country about a dangerous anti-China trade syndrome proposed by America, in which Canada is being lured to block Huawei, a company that has knocked the United States down a peg in the global telecom game.

"Keep calm and carry on" reads the article, which points out an attitude Canada should hold in terms of U.S' warning to block Huawei for spying.

It's reported the allegations made by the US in its call to countries across the globe to block Huawei lack solid evidence, and as revealed in the article, it's based on a lot of speculation and underlying Sino-phobia.

The article noted that countries like Germany, Italy and France, who were previously reported to be looking at reviewing Huawei's role as the lead player in Europe's 5G installation, now have no plans to block it.

As one of the many Huawei's contributions mentioned in the article, the company has transformed the global economy with staggering leaps in production that have benefitted people all over the world.

In terms of "Huawei stealing from the West" allegation, the article explained, "In the world of cutting-edge technology, everybody thinks the other guy is stealing ideas and violating patents." And Huawei's strong reputation among both telecom companies and end users cannot be dismissed entirely as the product of political hooliganism and corporate thievery.

The article also referred to a high-profile U.S. case against Huawei involving T-Mobile that looks like a political gambit in its trade manoeuvres with China than a real instance of a Chinese company stealing from the West.

According to the article, Huawei is apparently not involved in the security-sensitive "core" technology. But Huawei is the leading choice for the part of the 5G system that involves less-sensitive network connections that reach end users. As quoted from the article, "Such Huawei technology installed on every lamppost in the country, the telcos believe, does not pose a national security risk."

The article said instead of blocking Huawei, Canada should help block an American industrial strategy and protectionist racket that aims to take down Huawei as a technology competitor.
