Students whose scores rank among the top 0.1% in their province can apply for undergraduate study in the dream university for many Chinese high school students.
The university said it will also take students' scores in the Senior High School Examinations (Huikao) into consideration.
The move makes Cambridge the 7th British university that recognizes China's college entrance examination, following the University of Birmingham, University of Leicester, University of Kent, University of Dundee, Queen's University Belfast and Cardiff University.
