The JCS said in a statement that the projectiles were launched from the DPRK's western province of South Pyongan toward the eastern waters at about 4:35 p.m. and 4:38 p.m. respectively local time.

The projectiles flew about 370 km at an altitude of some 90 km. Further details were under a precision analysis by the intelligence authorities of South Korea and the United States.

The JCS noted that the South Korean military was closely monitoring relevant situations and maintaining defense posture in preparation for possible additional launches.

The DPRK has test-fired short-range projectiles 12 times this year, according to South Korean military.
