The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body, opens(开幕) its annual session at 3:00 p.m. Friday in Beijing. The press equipped(装备) with various(各种) kinds(类型) of popular(流行的) technologies(科技) such as VR (Virtual Reality) and 360-Degree Cameras, attended(参加) the press conference(记者招待会) on the fifth session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee to be held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China.

Over 2,000 members of the CPPCC National Committee from different sectors across the country will discuss major political, economic and social issues concerning the country's development during this year's session scheduled to conclude on March 13, said Wang Guoqing, spokesperson for the fifth session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Political advisors will hear(听) and deliberate(商讨) a report(报告) about the work of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and a report on how the Standing Committee has handled proposals from CPPCC National Committee members since the previous session, according to Wang.

A political resolution is also expected to be adopted at the meeting, the spokesperson said.

The political advisors will also be present at the fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress as non-voting participants, hearing and discussing a report on the work of the government and discussing a draft of the general provisions of civil law, Wang added.

The fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), the highest body of state power will open on March 5 respectively.

The annual sessions of the top legislature and top political advisory body are among the most important political events for the world's second largest economy.

The NPC is the highest body of state power, enabling the Chinese people to exercise their power as "the master of state." New state leaders will be elected at the NPC session in March 2018 after the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress elects a new Party leadership later this year.
