特朗普5岁外孙女秀中文啦! US President Donald Trump's young granddaughter shows her Chinese

US President(总统) Donald Trump’s young granddaughter(外甥女) had her Mandarin-speaking skills put to the test(测试) in front of China’s President(主席) Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan with a popular(流行的) Chinese folk song(歌) on last Friday. 

Five-year-old Arabella Kushner serenaded President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan with a popular Chinese folk song and recited(背诵) Chinese poetry(诗) for them during their visit at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

She sang(唱) the traditional Chinese song, Mo Li Hua (茉莉花 or “Jasmine Flower”), and recited the Three Character Classic for their guests during Xi and Trump’s first face-to-face meeting(会面). Peng sang the same song at different events(场合), with her most famous performance at a 2005 gala.The Three Character Classic, known as “san zi jing(三字经)” in Chinese, is a Confucian classic text used to teach young children in China.

The proud mother Ivanka posted a video of the children’s performance on her social media accounts(账号), including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

This is not the first time Arabella shows off her Mandarin-speaking skills. During Chinese Lunar New Year in February, the girl ever sang the Chinese version(版本) of Happy New Year.

The young girl’s Chinese performances have been well received by Chinese internet users, with the videos going viral each time.

Arabella started(开始) learning(学习) Chinese when she was 16 months(月) old(大).
