一年一度的泼水节来啦！ Annual Water Splashing Festival is on

The annual Water(水) Splashing Festival of the Dai ethnic group in Yunnan province is on!

The festival, lasting(持续) from April 13rd to 15th, will see events(活动) such as a traditional Dai customs(服装) exhibition, local snack(小吃) tasting, home-stay with Dai people, lots of water fights and more. 

The Festival falls during the New Year celebrations of the Dai Calendar.

By splashing(泼) water onto each other, they consider the ceremony a way to wash(洗) bad luck away and a symbol(标志) of good wishes for the new year.
