台风“天鸽”已致12人遇难 China hit by strongest typhoon of year

Typhoon(台风) Hato, the 13th typhoon this year, landed(登陆) in Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong Province on Wednesday. As China's first typhoon this year to signal a red alert(红色预警) it packed winds of up to force(力) 14 (45 m/s) at the eye of the storm. At least twelve people have been killed(杀死) and two remains missing(失踪). The force of the winds broke(打破) the local air speed record(纪录), say the local meteorological authorities.
