Chinese poet(诗人) Xu Zhimo's memorial garden(花园) opened at King's College Cambridge in England on Friday, during the fourth annual Cambridge Xu Zhimo Poetry and Art Festival.

Dozens of poets from China and Britain gathered(聚集) in the garden, reading(朗读) their own works(作品) on the theme(主题) of Birds and Gardens.

Xu Zhimo was a famous(著名) early 20th-century Chinese poet and writer(作家). In 1921, Xu studied(学习) at King's College Cambridge. His best-known poem, "A Second Farewell to Cambridge(《再别康桥》)," was written in 1928, after Xu's third visit to Cambridge. It is filled with longings for Cambridge, his love of England and its poetry. The poem is taught to millions of school- children across China.

90 years later, a Chinese garden named(命名) after Xu Zhimo's was designed(设计) and built(建造) at King's College Cambridge. It is the first Chinese garden built inside any college campus in Cambridge.
