四姑娘山正是“攀冰”好时节 Climbers enjoy a cool activity on Mount Siguniang

Waterfalls(瀑布 pùbù) freezing(结冰 jié bīng) in winter provide the perfect playground(运动场 yùndòngchǎng) for ice climbing in southwest China's Sichuan Province as several amateurs(业余爱好者 yèyú àihào zhě) were captured practicing(练习 liànxí) their glacier travel skills at Mount Siguniang in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture last week.

Mount Siguniang in Aba is one of the best ice climbing areas in the country, with over 100 ice walls in different shapes(形状 xíngzhuàng), allowing different grades of climbing for beginners and veterans. The ice climbing season is only in winter from mid-December to February.

Climbing courses(课程 kèchéng) offered here are also for professional mountaineers that want to train(训练 xùnliàn) with equipment in a cold and high altitude(高纬度 gāo wěidù) environment.
