A special bus warmed countless hearts in east China's Hangzhou(杭州) city as a campaign to support(支持 zhīchí) breast cancer(乳腺癌 rǔxiàn ái) patients(患者 huànzhě) met with great enthusiasm from commuters. Passengers(乘客 chéngkè) who donated(捐献 juānxiàn) strands(缕 lǚ) of their hair(头发 tóufa) to make wigs(假发 jiǎfà) and hairpieces for patients with breast cancer were granted free tickets(免费票 miǎnfèi piào).

Hair loss(掉头发 diào tóufa) is common among people undergoing treatment, so wigs are a way of helping them regain confidence. Nearly 300 riders – from young children to senior citizens – donated more than five kilograms of hair on the campaign's first day. Posters(海报 hǎibào) with real stories of patients and knowledge about cancer prevention decorated the bus. More hair collection buses will be launched around the country, according to the sponsors.
