Deputy Jiang Xihui, vice director of the Shanghai Railway Bureau, explained its importance.

"Promoting high-speed rail overseas is conducive to expanding the influence of China's high-end equipment manufacturing in the global market. This can further enhance international cooperation on high-end trade and production capacity, and so optimize the upgrading of the domestic industrial structure. Meanwhile, by strengthening cooperation with foreign railways, it can boost the interconnection of infrastructure and achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development in railways for all countries."

He revealed that, China's railways' foreign projects, such as the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, and the new lines in Laos are all running smoothly.

Since mastering core technology, Chinese high‐speed train manufacturers now have expectations to take abroad their rich experience in railway design, construction, production of trains, and related equipment, along with management and maintenance.

Deputy Jiang further outlined the advantages enjoyed by China Railway.

"We are capable of providing the most targeted solutions for different railway projects, and help project countries find the best mode of cooperation to maximize the overall benefits. To meet the strategy of going abroad, our head office will play the leading role of the enterprise level, give full play to talent, management, technology, resources and other advantages, and promote global railway development."

He said, the Belt and Road initiative could help China's high-end manufacturing products better serve the world by avoiding some trade barriers.

"Regions like the European Union and North America, may be designing some trade barriers through laws and regulations to protect local enterprises. The Belt and Road initiative can gradually push out our products to the world, as the countries along the route have high recognition of our products and low trade barriers. This strategy will gradually let some Western countries appreciate the quality of China's intelligent manufacturing, as our Huawei mobile phone has been successful in this field."

Pakistan is one of the first countries along the Silk Road to build an economic corridor with China.

A reporter from Independent News Pakistan, Muhammad Zamir Assadi said, his country is looking forward to more high-end Chinese manufacturing products.

"Now Pakistan businessmen are very interested in the manufacturing of China, to get the new experience and technologies from China in terms of the manufacturing. In the future, China is also planning to shift some of its industries from its western partners to Pakistan, it'll be a very new experience for Pakistani industry, they can learn from China."

During the ongoing session of the top legislature, deputies in this field have stressed that manufacturing is the key to reviving the real economy.

Several cities have promised to invest in manufacturing, especially those using advanced, intelligent or green technologies.
