A new direct flight between southwest China's Chengdu and Los Angeles is launched in Chengdu, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. The roundtrip flights by Hainan Airlines are carried out by a Boeing 787 twice a week. The Los Angeles-bound flights will leave from Chengdu at 9:15 p.m. Beijing time every Wednesday and Sunday, before arriving in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. local time. The return flights will take off from Los Angeles at 00:45 a.m every Monday and Thursday, before landing in Chengdu at 6:40 a.m. the following day. This is the second non-stop service between Chengdu and the United States. The first began linking the Chinese city with San Francisco in 2014. [Photo:]
