The Great World, Shanghai's oldest indoor amusement park, once the "No. 1 Entertainment Venue in the Far East", the first platform in China's history to allow Chinese male and female talents to appear on the same stage, a Chinese Disneyland, a bridge to the films of the golden age of Hollywood, a shared memory of local generations, will reopen Friday after being closed for nearly a decade, changing its historic role to an exhibition center showcasing intangible cultural heritage.
