Wild panda enjoys some human tourism in Shaanxi province

The panda was even comfortable enough to take a nap after the meal, leaving about half an hour later. The tourism site is right next to a national reserve. Its staff members have reported coming across wild pandas on several occasions in the past year. [Photo: hsw.cn]

Experts say that at this time of year pandas tend to seek bamboo shoots at lower levels, close to human settlements, where the plant grows better. The experts suggest the pandas should be observed at a distance if spotted, but tourists should not try to make physical contact. Statistics show there are 345 wild pandas in the Qinling Mountains region. [Photo: hsw.cn]
