Chinese submersible photographs coral forests in Mariana Trench

A colorful sponge and coral garden was photographed by a Chinese remotely-operated submersible at the bottom of the western Pacific Ocean. Called Faxian (Discovery), the unmanned submersible was released from China's research vessel Kexue (Science) into the Mariana Trench, the world's deepest natural trench, where it found about 10 coral forests during its latest expedition.
