Glasgow Mitchell Library Collection Manager Trish Grant inspects the world's most expensive printed book, a first edition of John James Audubon's "The Birds of America", as it makes a rare appearance from the library's vault. The treasured edition contains life-sized, hand-colored depictions of 1,065 North American birds. A complete copy of the first edition was sold in London at Sotheby's for £7,321,250 (around 9.1 million U.S. dollars) in 2010. [File Photo: VCG]
