South Africa needs funding to ensure water security

South Africa will need funding of at least R126 billion for infrastructure to ensure its future water security, said President Cyril Ramaphosa in his weekly open letter.



He said that the country’s water systems have been under immense pressure due to a decade-long drought. It has had a devastating impact on agriculture and communities, especially in the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Western Cape, Free State and Mpumalanga.
