Condolences follow the passing of South Africa’s cultural icon

Condolences have been pouring in from government organizations, political parties to private citizens in South Africa following the death of Joseph Shabalala, founder of Grammy Award-winning group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

The internationally acclaimed musician died on Tuesday in Pretoria after suffering from complications from back surgery in 2012 which left him wheelchair bound.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his deep sadness at the passing of South Africa’s cultural icon.
