A teardrop of the gods - Tukai Desert

"A teardrop of a god accidently landed to this grand green."

Tukai is a desert amongst the green lands of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China and is home to over 100 creatures.

Sometimes when local farmers look north, an indistinct city appears on the skyline with what looks like soldiers coming in and out of its gates. When the wind blows up, cries and shouts of a   battlefield are believed to be heard.

These ghostly moments make Tukai known for being a "haunted city."

The desert is now frequented by tourists, where a slice of the ancient Silk Road life can be experienced.
