American photographer Joan Lebold Cohen's exhibition underway in Beijing

Her name is Joan Lebold Cohen, an American photographer and art historian who specializes in Chinese art and film.

In 1979 when China and the US established diplomatic ties, Joan moved to live in Beijing with her husband. From 1979 to 81, she further pursued her lifetime journey to understand Chinese art, and devoted herself to explaining contemporary Chinese art to the outside world.

Now, an exhibition that contains over 100 photos that Joan had shot in China during the period is underway in the Today Art Museum in Beijing.
