Nanxun river Town, known as the "land of fish and rice" and the "silk market" ,is a charming tourist destination in Huzhou city, Zhejiang province.

Boasting a history that dates back 760 years, Nanxun is recognized as one of the most authentic and tranquil water towns in the region.

Based on a philosophy called "Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets," the local government is exploring different eco-friendly development strategies, and protecting this ancient town.

The idea was first proposed in 2005 when Chinese President Xi Jinping was then the Party chief of Zhejiang province.
