Home is where the heart is. That could best summarize Richard Markland, an Australian who currently lives in Luoyang and is married to a Chinese lady.

Richard is an English teacher at Henan University of Science and Technology, and he "really enjoys" it.

He came to China "originally planned for just one year," but now, 9 years have passed by and he is still exploring and teaching in China. For him, this is not just a city, but also home. Love brought him here and unveiled another chapter of his life.

About Luoyang city

Luoyang (Luòyáng) located in the west of Henan province, is on the central plain of China.

It's a prefecture-level city, about two hours driving from the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to the east.

Luoyang was once the ancient capital of thirteen capitals and was considered as one of the cradles of Chinese civilization.

It is known as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, with the others being Xi'an, Nanjing and Beijing.
