Qinghai Lake
Qinghai Lake means “blue sea” in Tibetan.
Located in the northeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and within the territory of Qinghai Province, Qinghai Lake is 105 kilometers long and 63 kilometers wide, and 3,196 meters above sea level. It’s the largest inland lake and salt lake in China.
Qinghai Lake is rich in natural resources. As of August 2014, the number of bird species recorded in Qinghai had risen to 222.
The lake is home to many ethnic groups.
