The giant panda has been a species on earth for at least 8 million years. It is a flagship species, which has a unique role and special status in the maintenance of global biodiversity.

Under normal conditions, giant pandas are docile, but after maternity, a female panda can be very aggressive.

Giant pandas spend half of their day eating and the other half sleeping. They prefer to eat bamboo, which accounts for 99% of their yearly food consumption. They have well-developed molar teeth, which are the strongest among carnivora.

Giant pandas are most dynamic between the ages of 1 to 3, and spend most of their time exploring and climbing trees.

The Giant panda is a solitary animal. The average life span of wild giant pandas is 18 to 20 years.

In captivity, giant pandas can sometimes live over 30 years.
